Sometimes called the Italian Renaissance Style, a style of architecture emulating the
Renaissance palazzi of northern Italy, most popular in America form about 1890 to 1930;

houses are usually ornate, two or three stories high and exhibit some of the following characteristics: a different architectural treatment on different stories; a massive cornice; a different type of window on each story; three adjacent windows treated as a single architectural unit;

arches above exterior doors; and often an entablature supported by pilasters over the
entrance.
