In the Studio: Scrambled

[In the Studio, August 4, 2011 /Image & Artwork: designslinger studio]

Do you remember that anti-drug campaign declaiming "This is your brain on drugs." Well,
this jumble of lines is frequently what my brain feels like after spending an intense day trying to work out an idea. It starts with the concept, moves to a sketch, and after one drawing after another, I either have something I'm happy with or I have to stop because my head feels like that hair-brained pattern in the picture above. Can't believe I got caught-up in that mind boggling exercise one day.

I've found that if I step back and let things sit for a bit, and allow my brain to unscramble, I can finally see the forest for the trees.
