In the Studio: H-O-T

Have you heard? We're havin' a heat wave. We've been working up a sweat not only because of the incredibly high temps and humidity, but also because we're working hard on our new website and getting editions ready to exhibit in the website's gallery. The temp reached 100 degrees on Wednesday, which was not a record. That was set way back in 1901 when the thermometer reached 103. Can you imagine?! What did those people do without air conditioning, cooling centers, heat indices, and no lightweight clothing? They opened windows, fanned themselves with anything they could find, went to work with long sleeves, long pants, hats and corsets, cooked meals in stifling hot kitchens, slept on the porch if they had one or maybe with neighbors in the park, and survived.

We're modern day wimps, we've got the a/c on. Which makes the work a little less
sweaty, even while things are heatin' up around here.

I feel so guilty having cool weather here, while the rest of the US is melting! Hey, what new website?? I am all ears. ;)

For designslinger studio! Want to show our prints online, so Mitch is building a website for them. He's in code hell!! What an adjustment living with temperature readings in the 90s for over a week, with a humidity and dew point combo that adds 10 degrees to the air temp. It got hot in LA, but with low humidity and virtually no dew point, the heat felt very different!
