Romanesque Revival [roh-muh-NESK ri-VAHY-vuhl] n. a massive style of architecture from
1880 to about 1900 that made use of architectural elements from the 9th to 12th century Western European Romanesque style, which itself was derived from Roman and Byzantine architecture.
