In the Studio: Cutting It

[In the Studio, July 2, 2011 /Image & Artwork: designslinger]
Did you catch last week's post? Well, it was about carving the lino block and my 1,2,3,5 knife cutting system. The system has stayed kind of the same, but a big change occurred when I purchased some top-of-the-line carving tools.
They're Swiss made Pfeil tools, and I love 'em. They're made for wood carving, and don't come cheap, but some of the knives work great on the lino, and boy are they worth the money. They cut so much cleaner, and slice through the linoleum like butter. I'm still drawing tiny little areas to carve every now and then, but with my Pfeil's in hand, I might get microscopic!
In case you missed last week's post about my crazy carving process.... In the Studio: One Step at a Time.
