Snow Days

We finally had some snow. Not nearly as much as Washington D.C., or even New York,
but enough to turn things into a picturesque, white-frosted postcard scene.

Unfortunately, when the city hosted its annual Snow Days event there was no snow to be
found. So, out came the snow machines and artists went to work carving some pretty amazing sculptures made of the white stuff. The first prize winner was Chinese Opera produced by a team from Harbin, China. The sculpture was also voted the Peoples Choice Award.

Night Life [Lantern] came in second, and was created by a team from nearby Wauwatosa,

Wisconsin.

In third place was 5 Seconds of Life carved by a group from Shelby, Wisconsin. I thought

that the sculptors had done a great job rendering the insect and the frog and when I read the name of the piece, I had to smile.
