Masking a modern, early 20th century steel frame these Tudor/Gothic details however

sheath Holabird & Roche's 1908 University Club.

Gothic spires, gargoyles and window tracery exploded onto the architectural scene during

the 12th century with European cathedral construction. These same details found their way on to many a 19th century university campus in the U.S., and may be the reason why these Medieval inspired designs were chosen for this University Club.
