University Club
The Gothic carvings soar into the sky, as they would on a cathedral in France.

Masking a modern, early 20th century steel frame these Tudor/Gothic details however
sheath Holabird & Roche's 1908 University Club.
Gothic spires, gargoyles and window tracery exploded onto the architectural scene during
the 12th century with European cathedral construction. These same details found their way on to many a 19th century university campus in the U.S., and may be the reason why these Medieval inspired designs were chosen for this University Club.
