Autumn's Fall
How do you know it's Fall, aka Autumn? The weather may be getting cooler, but one tell
tale sign is the changing color of the leaves and their slow descent to the ground. Even the tomatoes at the Farmer's Market seem to have been influenced by tonal shades of their leafy brethren.
Fall officially begins in the Northern Hemisphere on September 22nd, but for those of
you in the Southern Hemisphere, Fall has come and gone already.
Millions of people will be hitting the roadways for the annual, "Lets go look at the leaves
changing color" excursion. We were able to just walk out our front door.
Of course Fall also means the apples have ripened into their variety of reds, greens and
yellows. Even though the fruit seems to be available in grocery stores year round, there is still nothing like the flavor of an apple picked in a nearby orchard in September and October. Are you heading out on a leaf hunt, or an apple picking weekend at a local orchard anytime soon?

Wow, I do miss the colors and landscapes of Autumn. And yes, I am in Florida so seeing an orange leaf is like hitting the lotto. Thanks for the memories.

Ever since moving to Southern California I've always said that the thing I miss most about home is the changing of the seasons. That said, I sure don't miss what comes after the Fall. Good luck with that. Thanks for another great post.

Yes, after all those years of winters in LA, it will be an interesting life in Chicago after the Fall!
