Planning a trip to Paris? Do you live in Paris? Check out these great walking tours from
Free Paris Walks. This is not one of your usual run-of-the-mill tour guides to the same old, same old. So even if you live in the city, these walks will present Paris to you in a whole new light. [Invisible Paris]
Watch artist Michael Arthur create one his magical drawings in this video from
the website of Balthrop, Alabama, "a small-town band" which Michael is a member of, along with our blogging buddy, Therese. [Ampersand Seven]
It's all in the comments. Bravo's casting calls for their new untitled art project. Oh, I
forgot to also add "unscripted" - uh, yeah, right. [ART FAG CITY]
An Andy Warhol portrait of Micheal Jackson was set to go on auction in an East Hampton

The Paris Fall Couture shows are underway. This is where designers present those wacky,
one-of-a-kindoutfits starting in the $20,000 range. So, how many hours of sewing, byhow many seamstresses, with how much material, does it actually take tocreate a couture runway show? The numbers will astound you. [New York Magazine]

museums are simply the most expensive Public Storage facilities around, you might be interested National Art Hate Week. [Guardian]
Life imitates art, or is it the other way around? Don't know what to do with Mom's
belongings after she dies, and you need to clean out the family home of 60 years? Turn it into an art installation, and set it up in a museum. [NY Times]
Architects are designers. So, it should be no surprise that once in a while they design
something other than a building. Check out Frank Gehry's Torque ring for Tiffany and see if you can find a Guggenheim Bilbao moment hidden inside. [mirage.studio.7]
Another childhood memory will soon bite the dust. Kiddieland, a Chicagoland institution
that has provided little kids with unfussy, unadulterated amusement park fun since 1929, will close its doors forever at the end of the summer season. :( [Chicago History Museum]
This is a story I just couldn't pass up. A 15-year-old girl is walking down the street and
falls into a manhole on Staten Island, where some Department of Environmental Protection folks are working. She says she didn't see the open hole because she was busy texting. Her parents are suing the city. [Wired]

Thanks for the shout-out. Michael Arthur's stuff is amazing. We hope to see you next time we pass through Chicago. (Little correction: it's Balthrop, Alabama - not Balthorp - odd name, I know.)
Wonderful stuff here lately. I grew up outside Chicago and am learning so much reading your uber-informative posts. Mmm...
