Things Are Looking Up
I can't imagine walking through any city without looking up at the buildings as we pass by.
I guess that a tourist might take the time to look up from the sidewalk with guide book in
hand. Most residents are usually rushing to work, or some appointment or another, and can't take the time to glance up much beyond the view directly in front of them.
We were walking down a Chicago street, and as we approached this building we noticed
an exuberant decorative facade up ahead. We stopped for a moment to take a look, and discovered there was a lot more going on than we had assumed from a distance.
I imagine that people walk past here every day, and I wonder how many of them have
ever been motivated to stop, just like we did, and take it all in. I'm glad we stopped for about five minutes, because we found more here than we expected. There are buildings like this everywhere, so be on the lookout, you may be surprised at what you'll find.
