Chicago Bound

We're headed to Chicago for a ten day visit and will post from the Windy City over the
next week or so.

Chicago, that Toddlin' Town. During our week-and-a-half week visit we plan on taking
bazillions of pictures and posting them as often as possible.

I was born and raised in the city. Grew to love architecture and history while living there.
I left years ago for LA, and I'm looking forward to wandering the streets looking for my old city tucked inside a new city.

I know Chicago is a great restaurant town, but I'm looking forward to biting into a real hot

dog once again. Pinks in LA just doesn't cut the mustard. Sorry. Then on to a Chicago beef at Al's on Taylor Street. Philippes does a great French dip here, but it's an entirely different kind of sandwich. And then some Unos deep-dish pizza at the original location on Wabash. The pizza from the Unos franchise out here on the coast just isn't the same. It may be no better in Chicago now that the company is a chain, but here's hoping.

So, here we come Carl Sandburg's City of Big Shoulders. And, who knows we might like it
enough to stay.
