From Wall Street to Main Street. How many times have you heard that expression in the
past few months. Well, the National Trust has announced their 2009 Great American Main Street award winners. The awards recognize the rehabilitation, renovation and transformation of older historic downtowns and shopping districts.
Google Earth is teaming up with the Society of Architectural Historians to present an online
version of their with journal with all kinds of bells and whistles. The Society will use a $213,000 grant "to develop the first online architecture journal that will incorporate moving images, sound, and Google Earth maps into articles about the built world."
What happened to the worldwide depression/recession? After the orgy of spending at the
Yves Saint Laurent-Pierre Berges auction it seems appropriate to say that the Paris auction reflects a major turning point for the art market. There are always people with lots of disposable cash, even in the toughest of times.
Which leads me to the next link you should take a look at. French designer Christian
Louboutin has created a new shoe line with one pair called the Marie Antoinette. They cost $6,295. C'est la vie. Let them eat cake.
