To top off the New Year, we thought we'd let you know that we're anticipating big life
changes in 2009, and plan on some changes here at design slinger. The great thing about blogging is that everyday is a new adventure, and while design slinger may see a shift in concept over the next few months, the focus on architecture and history will stay the same.
As we complete our 6th month of daily, weekday posts, we hope that whatever changes do occur, you'll stick with us as we move forward during the coming year.

Speaking of topping off, Trump Tower in Chicago finally got its spire. It has been quite an
endeavor. Plans have been made and then scrapped for several weeks now, but the finishing touch to the top of the 2nd tallest building in the U.S. was installed Saturday. (The tallest building is still Chicago's Sears Tower, seen in the photo on the far left) There are more images on the Chicago Tribune web page, commentary by the paper's architecture critic, and a video, just click here. Another building that is reaching its uppermost point in the sky, is the world's tallest man made structure ever built; The Burj, Dubai. No one, not even the architect, will officially say how tall the building will actually be when it is finished in a few weeks. Stay tuned.
